There's a series of partial conflicts in some verses and statements in of thought in my head and I thought I'd put it into words, work on a flow/solution to their connection.
There's a פּסוק (verse) in קהלת (Ecclesiastes) that אוהב כסף לא ישבע כסף (a lover of money will not be satisfied with money) * . In contrast to this there is the verse in בּראשׁית (Genesis 3:17) that, בְּעִצָּבוֹן תֹּאכֲלֶנָּה כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ "with toil shall you eat of it all the days of your life". Last but not least, there is also the statement in פּרקי אבות (Chapters/Ethics of Our Fathers) that, "who is a rich man, he who is satisfied with his lot" - "איזה הוא עשיר--השמח בחלקו".
